Fine Iron Works Property for Sale!
LAUREL FURNACE FOR SALE!
BY Virtue of a Deed of Trust to me executed by Wm. H. Crutcher, on the 8th day of June, a.d., 1857, and regis-tered in the Register’s office of Dickson county, in Book K., pages 502, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7: I will, on THURSDAY, 12TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1857, Expose for Sale to the highest bidder at Picy Furnace in the County of Dickson, the fol-lowing described real and personal property to wit:
The premises known as the Laurel Furnace, in Dickson county, containing between four and six thousand acres, with an excellent Stock Farm thereon, and Furnace and fix-tures thereon. Also 17 negro slaves, of the following names and ages to wit: Charles Hooks, aged about 37 years. Pe-ter, aged about 31—a good Blacksmith. Leander, aged about 30 years—a first rate Wagon Maker. Jim Loftess, aged about 40 years. Mark Huddleston, aged about 23. Mark Night, aged about 25. Hofford, aged about 28. John, aged about 22. Essex, about 22—a good Engineer. Sallie, aged about 16. Solomon aged about 42. Matthew, aged about 37. Gus, about about 25. London, aged about 45. Edmund, aged about 48. Dary aged about 52. 18 Mules. 7 Waggons and Gear. 11 Oxen an 6 Cows. A number of Stock Hogs. Al the parts and Slides. About 150 tons of pig metal. A small quantity of Bacon, and all the Farming implements, and half the tools and utensils in Furnace.
The said property will be sold upon the following terms, to wit: Said Laurel Furnace property, upon a credit of one and two years, bond and approved security will be required of the purchaser, and a lien retained to secure the payment of the purchase money. The slave will be sold, a portion of them upon a credit of six months, and a portion of them upon a credit of twelve months. The perishable property, will be sold upon a credit of six months for all sums over five dollars. All sums under five dollars, cash. Bond and security given, and the terms of the sale in eery instance compiled with, before the property is removed.
