RUN AWAY from the Subscriber, a Mulatto young Man, named JEMMY, or JAMES, whi I lately purchased, at public Vendue : He is a upright, likely, arch Fellow, has a bushy Head of Hair, which he combes back; he plays on the Vio-lin : As he pretends to be a Taylor, and Barber may attempt to pass for a free Man, whoever therefore harbours or employs said Mulatto Slave, may depend on being prosecuted to the utmost Rigour of the Law. Whoever will secure him Goal, or deliver him to me in Charles-Town, shall receive Six Pistoles Reward; and any person proving by whom his harboured (either in this Province or Georgia) to the Conviction of The Offender, if a white Person, shall have Ten Pistols, and Four Pistols, if by a free Mulatto or Negro.
MILES BREWTON .
As the above Slave, name JAMES, or JEMMY, was seen crossing Combabee Ferry, on the 23th Instant, February, no Doubt he will endeavour to escape in some Vessel from Beaufort or Savannah :—He shews a Ticket as he passes; which he says it from me, or some other Person.—All Masters of Vessels are hereby forewarned from carrying him off, as they will certainly be prosecuted for the same.
