Runaway Slaves for Sale.
BY virtue of the power and authority, vested in me by the laws of Tennessee, I will on the 11th day of November, 1848, at the court house door in the town of Nashville, sell to the highest bidder for cash, to pay jail fees &c., the following runaway negroes, to wit:
BEN.
A negro man about 25 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches high, of bright copper color, who says that he is a blacksmith by trade, that he belongs to Jos. Small, living within 10 miles of Alabama, and that he left home on the 3d day of May, 1847.
JOHN.
A negro man about 19 years old, about 5 feet 6 or 8 inches high, heavy built, with black complexion, who says that he belongs to Same. Dixon, living 10 miles from Greensborough, Alabama, and that he left home about the 1st of June, 1847. Both committed, October 11, 1847.
