CHANCERY SALE OF REAL ESTATE.
PURSUANT TO AN ORDER OF THE CHANCERY Court, at Sommerville, Tennessee I will sell to the highest bidder, on the premises, in the town of Lagrange, on WEDNESDAY, the 20th of February, 1861, the following described Real Estate, belonging to the estate of John W. Clay, deceased, lying in and adjoint to the said town of LaGrange, to wit: Lot No. 1, being the late residence of John W. Clay, with 50 acres of land attached, and is one of the most desira-ble residences in the place. The dwelling-house is large, roomy, and conveinently constructed; the ne-gro houses, kitchen, stables and ice houses, and all other out-houses are in excellent order; the land is in a high state of cultivation, having several fine grass lots upon it. There is also a fine Peach and Apple Orchard on the premises. Lot No. 2, containing 16 1/2 acres. Lot No. 3, 16 acres. Lot No. 4, 23 1/2 acres. Lot No. 5, 14 1/2 acres. Lot No. 6, 45 acres. Lot No. 7, about 20 acres, and Lot No. 8, about 44 1/2. Also, the following Town Lots in LaGrange, to wit: Lots No. 71 and 74, upon which there is a good dwelling-house and all other necessary out-houses. Also, Lot No. 63, as known on the plan of LaGrange. Also, two lots of ground known as Lots Nos. 8 and 11, contain-ing about 5 acres, deeded to John W. Clay by A. B. Ballard and W. B. Jones, Trustees for Thomas G. Anderson and 3 acres with residence thereon, lately occupied by T. C. Boss.
Also a negro man named Hartwell, aged 26 years; a woman, Mary Ann, aged about 24 years; three chil-dren, aged from 1 to 8 years; Joe, a carpenter, aged about 45 years, and his wife Roda, aged 50 years; and Matilda, aged about 25 years.
TERMS—One-third cash, balance in on e and two years from day of sale, bearing interest from date, with bond and good security, and a lien retained upon the lands for the purchase money. Negroes sold for cash.
